Comments are a great way to interact with your visitors. But some website owners want to disable comments in WordPress site. Becuase WordPress allows any visitors to comment on the published post by default, this will make your comments section flooded with spammy and self promotion. Plus, to moderate spam comments will take your productive time.

Disable comments on all future posts or pages
First thing you need to do is login your website, Then navigate to Settings > Discussion to Discussion Settings page.
Uncheck the option of ‘Allow people to post comments on new articles‘ and click on Save Changes button.
This will disable comments on all future posts. However, if you wish to allow comments on a specific post, you can do that without changing this setting.
Disable comments on a specific post and page
Go to Posts > All Posts on the left side of WordPress admin dashboard. Hover your mouse cusor over the post which you want to disable comments and click on Edit link.
Clicking on Edit link will make the post avilable to edit. You will see general option listed on the right side of Gutenberg editor. Then click on Discussion tab to view the available options.
Uncheck theoption of ‘Allow Comments‘ and click on Update button on the top right corner of the editor.
You can follow the process to disable comments of pages.
Disable comments on posts and pages in bulk
Simply head over to Posts > All Posts and you will see the list of your all posts. Then check Title box, select Edit option from Bulk Actions drop-down menu and click on Apply button.
Next page, you will see all selected posts listed in Title section. Then show Comments drop-down menu and choose Do not allow option and Click on Update button.
You can also disable comments in pages with this way.
Delete all WordPress comments
You can disable comments in WordPress with the above mentioned methods, but the existing comments won’t be removed. Now, let’s take a look at how to delete the existing comments.
Click on Comments option at the left side of WordPress admin dashboard. You will see all comments listed on Comments page.
Check Author box, select Move to Trash option from Bulk Actions drop-down menu and click on Apply button.
You will see all comments moved to the Trash.
Dsiable WordPress comments with a plugin
WordPress plugin always makes the life easier. Disable comments plugin allows you to turn off all comments everywhere on your WordPress site with one-click.

Upon activation, head over Settings > Disable Comments at the left side of WordPress admin dashboard.
There are two kinds of options available to choose. If you wish to disable all comments on your site, you can choose the first option, Everywhere. Also, you can disable comments on the selected areas, such as posts, pages, and media. Then click on Save Changes button.
